Last weekend the MAA in partnership with QSI hosted a training event for 31 members at Camp Ripley’s Combined Arms Collective Training Facility. This facility boasts a brand new state of the art 24 building urban training environment and was truly awesome. Though there was some “play” we did a lot of things most Airsoft players rarely if ever get to do (outside of some of the larger National OPs). We had the facility all to ourselves for 12 hours and honestly it was overwhelming and we didn’t even make use of the massive list of special effects available (or all of the buildings). We plan to do this again as a bonding exercise as well as a training opportunity and I can say again that I feel strongly that the Members of the MAA are some of the most professional, safe, honorable, and generally great Airsoft players in the country. Thanks must go out to Chris Allen for putting the pieces together and leading us into unknown waters, Erik Pakieser for his tireless willingness to serve this club, Matt Ruud for organizing and leading, Jim David for all his input and aid planning on implementing the event, and to all the participated and made the experience both fun and educational. To those that missed it, we are looking at possibly a Fall date.
* Big thanks to Camp Ripley as well. As you’d expect they were very professional but also friendly and accommodating.
